What an awesome example of #moonshotthinking
_"treat plants with bacteria to help farmers grow more food, faster — without genetic modification."_
Leave it to the innovation, curiosity, and intellect of children to change the future of agriculture forever.
Brilliant!

"Their results have huge implications for increasing agricultural productivity and easing world hunger."

In Education, there's an understanding that we need to see "it" succeed somewhere else first. By on large my life experience tells me that is pretty common across industries.
There is a ton of value in this "copy cat" model, not the least of which is the eventual progression to where we are now, which is more of a remix model.
which brings me to my observation upon the launch of the new iPhone…

There really is something to not being "first"…

"At its heart was the idea that Androiders had an iPhone 6 two years ago. It was called the Google Nexus 4."

I love G+ Photos a ton. Not sure that I love separating it from G+ though… in my opinion it just needs some minor tweaks to help with organization and sharing.
My favorite features of course are the #autoawesomeeffects   and #stories  tools that make for some of us the editing process a lot more simple.

Great post here by +George Couros @gcouros with a subtle nudge to recognize the genius surrounding us in our schools and buildings. Keeping your door open, inviting dialogue and when appropriate debate, is so pivotal to connected learning and professional sharing in our schools…
great quote by George, here…

"We can learn from anyone, whether they teach currently or not, and make it applicable to what we do in schools.  That’s the power of the web.  But I hope we are at the time that we quit focusing on only looking for “names” and start realizing the power that we have to learn from one another."

Learning Out Loud: Reshared post from Mark Wagner:

I am excited to see more support for the ConnectEd Initiative, and to hear about the superintendents stepping out and taking the pledge to be a #futureready  district.Love the clear focus and message sent by starting with infrastructure.Future Ready schools successfully incorporate the infrastructure, devices, professional development, content and human capacity necessary to successfully implement the ConnectED Initiative and have become local exemplars of an effective transition to digital learning.
